No more sportscar for LJ

Boo. The TL is gone. One more step towards adulthood: we bought a GMC Acadia this weekend! Another checkmark on the list of Baby Ford "to-dos".  Kyle wasn't exactly aware of this to-do ;)

My car was getting awfully hard to get in and out of, with the bowling ball that is now my stomach. I need to get accustomed to not zipping around Dallas anyway. So, by 4 months when she arrives, I should be a nice, safe driver (*wink*).

And yes, in true-LJ fashion, I've been like a teenage kid who just got their first car. I don't know how many errands I've made up to run.  Seriously, I will never change :)

Next on the list of to-do's...order the nursery furniture, finalize a name, and schedule birth classes (ugh).

Crib Bedding

Found the crib bedding this past weekend at Storkland. Paisley is my all-time favorite :)

The pic online isn't very good, (as you can see). I snapped a couple photos in the store with my phone and you can see the six different patterns below.

We decided on pale green walls with pink accessories and cherry wood furniture.

Easter

Went to Marshall for Easter to visit Kyle's parents. Had some good food...ham, sweet potatoes, chocolate pie, etc. Baby was loving it!

Half-way

20 Weeks...

Half way through. I have to say this has been a breeze. Much different than I had envisioned. I'm so thankful and lucky.

Unce upon a time...

Wow...talk about old-school.  Those 20-week ultrasound pics (below) made me wanna dig through our old baby photos...

Like my friend Erin said, if our hair had stayed this blonde, we could have saved a small fortune on highlights.

It's a GIRL!!

20 weeks...

Wow! My intuition was right. She's 11 ounces and totally perfect, the doc said. The ultrasound tech had to point out everything because Kyle and I couldn't see much.

Luckily this other nurse snuck in a 3D ultrasound (shhhh....) so we got to see her little face in color on screen. She's only 20 weeks and they don't normally do the 3D's until 28 weeks or later, so she's only half-developed. But here she is (placenta and all).

Now after 20 weeks of waiting... we can start shopping!!!

Tomorrow's the big day...

So, tomorrow is the BIG ultrasound...so excited. The appointment is at 9 am and I have to drink 16 oz. water starting at 7:30 and finishing 45 minutes before the appointment with no bathroom visits. Yikes.

Obviously we just want a healthy baby. Like I told Kyle, I'm already "in love"... I just want to know what it is I'm in love with! Plus, it'll be nice to actually see the baby on screen again. We've only had one ultrasound so far - see the cute little blob from 7 weeks below.

Is it a boy or girl?

We find out Tues, April 7 if it's a boy or a girl. Dad has three bets going that it's a boy. My intuition tells me its a girl, so we'll see if I'm right!  I hate being wrong - ha.

18 Weeks, 3 Days

Went to visit Mom for a couple weeks...there's nothing like Mom's spoiling. :)

18 weeks...you can now see the bump through my clothes.

Baby Ford is moving around like crazy, especially after I eat. Kyle even got to feel him/her kick the other day :)

16 Weeks, 2 Days

16 weeks...

So far my cravings include:

Taco Bueno "mexi dip & chips"
hard-boiled eggs
mashed potatoes & gravy
Mom's french toast
grapes
Arby's

Real healthy...but I'm starving at all times.

7 Weeks, 6 Days

7 weeks: first doctor visit...

Doc said everything is perfect. I'm one of the lucky ones with no morning sickness.

Christmas Day

We decided to tell our parents about our "gift" on Christmas Day. There's no better gift, right?

Monday, December 22, 2008

Yay! Got the positive test, just in time for Christmas. A little shocking, didn't think it would happen so fast, but so thankful. I wanted to do something special to tell Kyle, so as a surprise, I wrapped up the tests as a "gift" for him to open that night (thanks, Denise).
